Construction Standards
quality is in the detailsWe encourage you to take a few minutes and view some of our construction standards listed below. Even if you have zero knowledge about residential home construction, we think this information will be helpful as you explore the process of building your new home regardless of what builder you choose. Our standards are a reflection of our commitment to building quality homes for our customers. Our objective is, we want all of our clients to live well in their new Live-Well home!
Tyvek® HomeWrap®
DuPont™ Tyvek® HomeWrap® is the original house wrap, incorporating unique material science that helps keep air and water out, while letting water vapor escape.
DuPont™ Window Flashing System
Self adhered butyl flashing helps prevent water intrusion at window and door sills without mechanical fasteners.
Windstorm Sheeting
The Windstorm Method is an innovative way to design and build a home to structurally withstand high wind forces by installing continuous OSB sheeting from sole plate to the top plate of the wall.
Pex Plumbing
We believe that Pex plumbing is by far superior to copper or CPVC. Pex provides more consistent water pressure, is more durable, and can be installed with fewer joints than standard copper or plastic CPVC. We encourage the use of Pex but also realize that clients have preferences and will use any of the three types.
Spider Plus Insulation
With up to 30% better air resistance than competitive products, Spider Plus achieves R-15 in 2×4 and R-23 in 2×6 walls and a Sound Transmission Class (STC) rating of 43 in a standard 2×4 wood-framed wall to achieve Grade 1 insulation.
Simpson Strong Rod System
Live-Well Homes uses the Simpson Strong Rod System to meet and surpass Florida wind shear and uplift requirements. We prefer the Strong Rod System instead of strapping because it just makes sense to bolt down the top and sole plates directly into the concrete foundation. Download the system brochure here.
Quality Framing
Live-Well Homes believes in advanced, quality framing techniques to deliver the very best final product possible. Please take a few minutes and review these two videos below that help illustrate what we mean by “quality framing.” We look forward to building your home with the same level of competence and detail you’ll see below.
