Terry is the last of nine children born in central Indiana to a farmer and factory worker. He graduated from Indiana State University in 1977 and married his college sweet heart Sue that same year. His career started in information technology raising to a rank or Chief Information Officer for Philips Technology before finding his real passion of designing and building homes. (see LinkedIn for full career path). In 2008 Terry partnered with his son Evan to start Live-Well Homes. He has hands-on experience in building homes including framing, roofing, plumbing, electrical, siding, painting, floor installation, trimming, and custom showers. However today concentrates on home designs and finance and helps Evan in the planning.

Terry and Sue are the proud parents of Matt and Laura (Livesay) Loshe (kids Elsie, Addie, Halie, Jolie) Fort Wayne Indiana, Nate and Amy (Livesay) Krupke (kids Eli, Norah) Orlando Florida, Evan and Meagan (Miehls) Livesay (son Kale) Trenton Florida, and Rachel Livesay Trenton Florida.
